About Richard Cardona

I am a painter and printmaker (with an MFA from Tyler School of Art). I live and work in Moorestown, NJ. I also own and am creative director for a small marketing company (Hypno) with my partner and wife, Alison Judah. She is also an artist and a graphic designer.

My artwork is in several large private collections, and many many many small private ones too. Can you believe Bill Clinton owns my art? How about Peter Gabriel? Weird huh?

My influences are Matisse, Von Gogh, Seurat, Picasso, Warhol, Basquiat, Monet, Diebenkorn, children’s art, grafitti, and cinema just to name a few. I also like working with the T.V. on in the background for some white noise. I consider myself a “colorist” for whatever that’s worth.

I once exhibited extensively in galleries, in the 90’s, but I am not represented by any gallery at the moment.Recently I’ve begun an earnest attempt to “get my work back out there”, and this here internet thingy sure looks like a great way of going about that endeavor. I have been posting new and old work, and will hopefully continue to do so.

Generally my work is quite eclectic and I have no one style that I could say is my “signature” style. I do believe there are themes that tie my work together,  whether they are abstract works or more realistic work. I’ll leave that for the art historians to sort out after I’m dead.

I also enjoy photography and have a few thousand images and I may just end up showing a few on this website as well.I hope you enjoy what you see and please, feel free to comment and/or contact me as well. I always appreciate feedback and would love to hear from you.
